From raw feeds to structured intelligence.
Why
News is abundant. Structure is not.
Thousands of outlets report the same events, in dozens of languages, with no shared schema. We built KontextNews to turn that noise into one queryable structure.
How it started
One engine, not ten scrapers.
It began as the internal engine behind our own publications. Instead of each site scraping its own feeds, we built one pipeline: ingest, normalize, de-duplicate, enrich, cluster into events, index and serve. Then we exposed it as an API.
Principle
Deterministic by design.
Classification is a fixed taxonomy, not a model that invents. The same input yields the same output, so results are reproducible and auditable.
Where we are
Live and growing.
The engine runs continuously and the corpus grows on its own. This is the first public surface of a longer plan: an agent, a chat interface and an MCP server follow.
